The Idea all started with a simple question that has been nagging me for years: how do I help people navigate the ever-evolving tech space and find their perfect career path? As someone who had been in the industry for a while, I had seen firsthand the challenges that aspiring techies faced – the endless pursuit of the right resources, the struggle to connect with industry professionals, and the overwhelming task of piecing together a cohesive learning roadmap.
This was why I started Your Guide Into Tech (YGIT), with the only aim of making breaking into the tech space easier for newbies and those transitioning from one tech career to another. This idea got me accepted into the millennium fellow back in 2021.
After then I had tried to keep the project running, but as you know, other commitments set in, and it was a tedious task trying to manually curate and write personalized career roadmaps for each field. I saw it as a labor of love, but I soon realized it was an endless pursuit that left me feeling like I was barely scratching the surface.
Moving forward to today, as I've gotten more familiar with several AI technologies, I decided to integrate AI capabilities into YGIT. I thought to myself, what if I could harness the power of AI, of course, to create a platform that could generate personalized career roadmaps on demand? This was where, let's call it, the V2.0 of YGIT was brought to life, and I managed to bring something to life using Claude as my co-pilot, :) and together we created YGIT-AI."

Let me describe what using YGIT feels like to me, it’s like having a personal career guru in your pocket. It walks you through the basics all the way to the pro-level stuff. Need book recommendations? Check. Want to get your hands dirty with some real projects? YGIT got you covered.
The coolest part? It's powered by OpenAI’s model. So every time you use it, it's like talking to a super-smart friend who tailors everything just for you. Seriously, YGIT is a game-changer for anyone trying to level up their tech career.
An Open Invitation to contribute to YGIT
Look, I'll level with you - YGIT isn't winning any awards right now. It's rough around the edges, to put it mildly. But you know what? That's okay, at least for now.
Are the roadmaps it spits out perfect? Nope. They're probably a mess half the time. But that's where you all come in. I'm not too proud to admit I don't have all the answers. I want to learn from everyone using YGIT - your experiences, your critiques, your ideas.
This isn't about me having some grand vision. It's about building something together that actually helps people. So yeah, YGIT is far from perfect. But with your help, we can turn this hot mess into something genuinely useful. What do you say we give it a shot? Github Repo Here
Picture YGIT becoming this kickass hub for tech nerds, but not because I'm some genius. Nah, it's because we're all in this together. We're talking personalized advice, sure, but the real magic? It's tapping into the brainpower of everyone in tech.
Think about it - a platform that grows and changes right along with us. That's the dream, right?
So here's the deal: Let's rebuild YGIT from the ground up. Every bug fix, every new feature, every crazy idea - it all counts. I'm pumped to see what happens when we mix a little humility with a whole lot of passion.
And hey, that's my minute. Catch you on the flip side, and let's make some noise in the tech world!

not a tech person, just an average person in awe of software developers and how y'all manage to come up with brilliant, useful ideas that makes life easier. May Allah make this a success for you!
